On the 10th of April we had the great opportunity to host the event “Retail Evolution: An adventure in the multibrand world” along with the Luxury & Arts CLUB at SDA Bocconi.
We wanted to thank all the students and professors who attended the event and in particular the guest speakers: Rachel Sanderson, Senior Correspondent Financial Times – Global Luxury Goods; Ulric Jerome, CEO MATCHESFASHION.COM Woman and Paola Cillo, Professor at Università Bocconi.
Nowadays the luxury market is characterized by the development of new ways of commercializing the products, this happens above all thanks to the evolution and diffusion of new technologies.
Thanks to the e-commerce platforms, it now appears easier even for small companies with limited resources to reach global audiences and to be closer to the final customer. This is what MATCHESFASHION.COM aimed at and Ulric Jerome stated at our conference “I understood it was the right time to re-write the page of the luxury market” to testify the change that is taking place in the luxury market in considering e-commerce as a potential and not as a threat to a brand’s value.
This is why it appears interesting to investigate how multi-brand retail is dealing with this new scenario in which they’ve been ‘‘betrayed’’ by the ones they worked hard for before the arrival of new techniques.
