Paris Haute Couture SS2025

Paris Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 unfolded as a grand spectacle of artistry and craftsmanship, affirming once again why haute couture remains the pinnacle of fashion. From January 27 to 30, the world’s most prestigious couture houses showcased their breathtaking visionary creations, drawing an elite audience to the City of Lights.

VALENTINO

The most anticipated collection was Alessandro Michele’s debut for Valentino — a theatrical and intellectual exploration of history, craftsmanship, and maximalism. With this ambitious debut, Michele seamlessly merged Valentino’s legacy with his signature extravagant style, proving he is more than ready to take the fashion house into a bold new era. It was, as Michele described, “a constellation of visions… a plurality of interconnected worlds. Each dress is not just an object. It’s rather the knot of a net of significance, eras, cultures and echoes of past stories.” Inspired by Umberto Eco, Michele used the concept of lists as a tool to create culture, ‘to confine the infinite extension of the existing within a meaningful framework’, so he presented the 48 looks as 48 lists. Each look came with what felt like 100 page manal, and if the audience didn’t feel like reading that, there was a screen behind the models displaying a stream of notes on fabrics, influences, and philosophical reflections. Michele truly drew on the concept of art, spun in a web of meaning.

ARMANI PRIVÈ

“Creating is the essence of my existence”, declared Giorgio Armani as he celebrated 20 years of Armani Privé with a dazzling collection titled Lumières, inspired by the power of light. The runway was a spectacle of shimmering crystals, intricate embellishments, and fluid silhouettes, all hallmarks of Armani’s signature refined aesthetic. A true red-carpet dream, the collection embodied elegance and sophistication, it was an homage to hedonism and glamour.

CHRISTIAN DIOR

Maria Grazia Chiuri drew inspiration from Alice in Wonderland and the surrealist works of Dorothea Tanning to curate a collection which reflects the transition between childhood and adulthood. The collection gave a sensation of fairy tales and dolls, as it took us down the rabbit hole of curiosity.
