On 24th of February, BS4F was in Piccolo Teatro to watch the Laura Biagiotti Fall Winter 2019/20 fashion show. The well-known theater was simply decorated with white for the show, with a huge LB placed in the beginning of the runway, the logo of the brand.
The fashion show had a youthful and upbeat vibe. Colorful pieces, featuring monograms of the logo opened the runway. Puffer jackets, big collars and hairs put in buns with help of colorful scrunchies created a playful mood. The models strut the runway wearing one of the biggest trends of the season, extra long knit scarves. The show closed with a Biagiotti classic; white and crème pieces. The signatures of the brand, comfortable dresses and pants were not missing. Main materials were knits, wool and cashmere, another signature of the fashion house. The founder of the house, Laura Biagiotti described herself as an average woman who understands the fashion desires of other average women. The energetic but wearable and comfortable collection was a clear representation of that vision.
Laura Biagiotti had her first fashion show in 1972. She rapidly gained a name in the industry and the House of Biagiotti became listed among the largest fashion houses in Italy. In 1988 she presented her collection in China, which brought her the Marco Polo Award in 1993, in Beijing for being the first Italian designer to present a collection in China. She also had a show in Moscow in 1995 which was the first Italian fashion show to be presented in Russia. Laura Biagiotti, also called “Queen of Cashmere” for her creative uses of the material, always had a vision forward her time. After she passed away in 2017, her daughter Lavinia took over the brand. She is following her mother’s vision. She says “There is a need to shape the future with creativity and a confident attitude, not only through technology,”.
One of the highlights of the show was iconic model Pat Cleveland closing the runway. Dressed in a glamorous Laura Biagiotti outfit, Cleveland danced her way through the runway with her forever-young spirit. The icon and the fashion house have a relationship that dates back to 1995. Cleveland was the protagonist also for the fashion show held in Moscow. Lavinia Biagiotti states that the model has always been a muse to the brand with her light and energy.
Thank you Laura Biagiotti for inviting BS4F to this beautiful show. The fashion house has been a key player in Italian fashion industry for a long time and this collection was a perfect representation of what they represent. Always chic, always inclusive, always creative!
