15 things to do in Berlin

Berlin, no in-between, either you love or you hate.  Just for you Lust in Fashion hunted for cool last week in the “Haupstadt”.

Advice 1: First time in the city ? You should try the summer because there is nothing better than chilling all day at Tempelhof or drinking a Club Matte by the Spree at der Visionaere.

Nevertheless, if like us, there is no way you can wait for the sunny days… run, now ! From the concept stores to the most creepy & underground places this is a selection of hypster-trendy-arty-conceptual-trashy spots that you can not miss. Do not be shy and embrace the city.

DAY 1

1. Oukan – Kronenstr. 71, 10117 Berlin

Avant-garde, dark and unisex in this concept store you can find well-known designer pieces such as Rick Owens, Damir Doma and Rad Hourani, but also niche brands like Thom Krom and Lee Brennan.
Special mention to the staff for the welcoming.

2. Voostore – Oranienstraße 24, 10999 Berlin

From streetwear to high fashion, Voo offers an accurate selection of garments, accessories and designer objects. After more than 1 hour in the fitting room and your bank account close to zero (€€€) you should try the tea, you will feel better.

3. Muting the noise – Blücherstr. 22, 10961 Berlin

Belonging to the famous Label Innversions this is the opportunity to find vinyls and posters of your favorite DJs.

4. Chalet – Vor dem Schlesischen Tor 3, 10997 Berlin

Advice 2: Thursday, thursday, thursday !

Welcome to Wonderland. It looks like a haunted house owned by Dracula himself. Two floors, two DJ’s, a fairytale garden and most of all a perfect vibe of minimal and techno music. It’s time to dance the night away with my friends.

DAY 2

5. Kuboraum – Heinrich-Heine-Straße, 10179 Berlin

From Berlin and made-in Italy, Kuboraum is a new eyewear brand that drives you (or me at least) crazy. Their collaboration with the Japanese brand Julius is simply breathtaking.
Rooted in a broodingly gothic mood, the flagship store is a Temple dedicated to the eyewear.

6. Klekko – Weserstr 183, 12045 Berlin

For those who don’t know Klekko yet you can check read up on it in this previous article. It is in this tiny studio that Julia and Joana work on the elaboration of their new collection. A cup of tea and few cigarettes later, no doubt you will be seduced. Careful those two girls are really talkative!
Warning : Klekko in Italy ! Chosen by among 13,000 young fashion designers, Klekko will take part in Origin – Passion and Beliefs from the 15th to the 18th of May 2015 in Vicenza.

7. Sammlung Boros –  Reinhardtstraße 20, 10117 Berlin

Advice 3: Book an appointment at least one month before.

A taste of culture. This is in an old bunker where you can admire a private collection of Contemporary Art. On each of the bunker’s five floors, visitors are confronted with various, overlapping sounds that make the immersion even more intense.

8. Schwarze Traube – Wrangelstraße 24, 10997 Berlin

Located in Kreuzberg, this is the perfect place to sip one of their fantastic “made to measure” cocktails after a tough day.

9. About:Blank – Markgrafendamm 24c, 10245 Berlin

Advice 4: Become part of the legend and go to the Homopathik parties .

It never ends… An old building, full of graffiti, which seems to be a normal factory during the week but transforms into an awesome club during the weekends that is what you need !

DAY 3

10. DotsToLines – Private studio on appointment only.

The tattoo artist Cham Machlev is a master of precision. The ink seems to move on the flesh by respecting the sacred laws of mathematics. Waiting time for an appointment is 1-2 years !!

11. Acne Studios – Weinmeisterstrasse 2, 10178 Berlin

No need to introduce one of the most well-known Swedish brands. Because the Acne store experience is unique on, you should have a look.

12. Darklands – Heidestrasse 46 – 52, Building 7, 10557 Berlin

Darklands is a unique institution, a nomadic shop where every 18 months or so, the crew closes the doors and sets-up shop somewhere fresh. The latest incarnation—Darklands 4.0— is a 660 square-meter space, where Darklands continue to fulfill its promise of showcasing the best darkly shaded, avant-garde menswear. And new to the collection, for the first time in its eight years of existence, is a selection of women’s to fit clothing concept.

13. Berghain – Rüdersdorfer Straße 70, 10243 Berlin

Advice 5: Keep clam, don’t be afraid of Sven and wear something black.
Advice 6: No more than 2 to try to get in.

It is freezing outside and the queue seems to be endless. This is the price to pay if you want to get in to the mythic Berghain. With residents such as Ben Klock, Len Faki or Tama Sumo, the Berghain experience is a trip into the deep sound of techno. Open from Saturday to Monday morning without discontinuity, when you are inside, the notion of time does not mean anything anymore. Don’t worry if you are not a “Berghain princess” and you are rejected you should remember that it can happen to everyone (even Felix Da Housecat last week… Ouch!)

DAY 4

14. Salon Schmück – Skalitzer Straße 80, 10997 Berlin

11007470_10206112419312408_1965643990_n

You are literally starving to death after this crazy night-morning-afternoon and the most precious thing right now is brunch ! Bagels, eggs, muesli… Salon Schmück is a holly place of heaven.

15. Berghain again and again

It is 6 a.m. you are still inside and you do not want to go. But there is this little voice in your head which reminds you that in 2 hours you are supposed to be in a plane back to Milan.

Of course you will go back!
